Question Dennis Rodman To Lead Peace Talks With N.Korea?

Two online articles today about North Korea:

Thursdayís announcement by North Korea that it could launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack against the United States in the face of new U.N. sanctions is a predictable escalation of the isolated nationís increasingly aggressive stance toward Washington over the past year. But experts note that Pyongyangís recent advances in its nuclear weapons and missile programs mean that such bellicose rhetoric cannot be taken lightly.

The escalation of the Northís oratory began not long after the countryís 28-year-old leader, Kim Jong Un, took over from his late father, Kim Jong Il, on Dec. 28, 2011. It has been accompanied by two space launches Ė one successful Ė and a third nuclear weapons test.
Dennis Rodman is reportedly trying to do something that hasnít been achieved in decades Ė broker peace between the US and North Korea.

Rodmanís publicist tells TMZ that The Worm is planning a second trip to the DPRK in the next six months, and securing peace between his new pal Kim Jong Un and President Obama would be the NBA legendís greatest achievement.

The aspiring diplomat allegedly wants to use his new odd-couple friendship with the Outstanding Leader to forge peace and convince Kim Jong Un to engage in talks with the president.

This could be the start of a sort of pong pong diplomacy.

Richard Nixon stuck his neck on a chopping block when relations were established with mainland China.

The more isolated that pathetic country gets, the worse they will behave.

Empty their camps of political prisoners.

Rodman was being strong to do what he did.

If Un might be looking for a way out of an Untenable situation he might take advantage of this opportunity. Remember Ping Pong Diplomacy? People sometimes need cover to do what they understand is right. In this case, lets hope Dennis Rodman can work it. We'd all be better off for it.

Interesting point, because there certainly have been some interesting collaborations in the past on how to "get things done".

He might as well be added to the list of nominees, which includes:
Names put forward this year include Bradley Manning, the U.S. Army private who has admitted sending hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the secrecy-busting website WikiLeaks
That is the same Manning that is currently:
He was charged with a number of offenses, including communicating national defense information to an unauthorized source and aiding the enemy, a capital offense, though prosecutors said they would not seek the death penalty.
I'm not equating Rodman to Manning, what I am pointing out is that considering the scope of nominees, Rodman could probably fit in too.

My comment was in reference to just putting a link into a posting, without giving any comment or quote about what the link refers to. But upon reconsideration, I need to remember that it is up to each poster to use whatever style they want [within reason] when posting. If I don't want to bother chasing down something, I can simply skip over it. While you have a right to post mystery links.

With such little interaction here it seems sillier to ignore mystery posts than to simply 'click and see' if a goal towards keeping this site alive beyond life support. Curiosity may have killed the cat but it might save this forum even tho it kills some to do so.

Ah ha, now you've just illustrated, by your doing so, the beauty of writing a bit of dialog in posting: it opens the door for interest and responses! Such as my response right now to your dialogued post.

We can agree to disagree on postings with little more than a link. I think they invite skipping over. You [if I read it correctly] think such links can increase participation by kicking in curiosity.

Everyone gets their own opinion, and can choose their own posting style!
