I think too, that it is also making an example out of him. If they were to let go now, it would send the message to others that the GOV is lax, and won't persecute them(potential whistle blowers).

Snowden could poop gold nuggets and have a cure for cancer, he will ALWAYS be vilified. It's really a shame. I, for one, think he did the right thing but in the wrong way, but still applaud him for standing up for the citizens. For standing up for what is right. for calling out our government and pointing a finger. He should be labeled a patriot, not a traitor.

Then they should just keep their traps shut instead of losing tons of support.

As has been obvious all along, there are many in high Gmt. office that want Snowden dead, and now they are fomenting those unacceptable thots publicly. Russia is probably his safest place on earth, how absurd and typically despicable of those who are sworn to uphold true American values and justice for all, not just as they see them. Vote only for Snowden supporters from now on if you care for anything worth a damn.

Au contraire. I haven’t voted for a Democrat in the last decade and I can’t think of any in particular I WOULD vote for (barring Hawai‘i’s Congressional and U.S. Senate race this year, and assuming Djou doesn’t throw his hat in). In addition, U.S. Rep. Rand Paul (A REPUBLICAN) has been a very vocal advocate for Snowden. This is hardly a partisan issue. This is about a U.S. President — a Constitutional lawyer by trade, no less — violating said U.S. Constitution through his tacit support of unconstitutional NSA policy.

But getting back to your original erroneous assertion — if telling the truth is against the law, why does a witness swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in a court of law? Isn’t he or she in effect swearing to break the law under GregLee’s erroneously assumptive definition? Here’s a hint, Mr. I think I know it all. Classified information can ONLY be classified if there is a legally justifiable reason to do so. The bar is raised even higher if it’s “Top Secret.” The only reason it “seems” like it might be against the law is that rarely are unconstitutional activities that are classified exposed. Snowden is one of the few in the last half century brave enough to risk his life for the greater good in this manner. He should be getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but like Snowden’s father Lon was quoted earlier as saying, it won’t be by this president.

FACT: Barack H. Obama’s administration has prosecuted more whistleblowers than ALL OTHER U.S. PRESIDENTS COMBINED. Not exactly a beacon of sunshine.

We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans.

You should be more careful with your attributions. I didn't say that telling the truth is against the law. What I said was: "Sometimes the truth is actually against the law." Notice the "sometimes" there. I gave the example of reporting troop movements in time of war.

Many will blame Snowden for this, and they would be wrong.

The word on the streets is that a Senate bill scheduled to take effect July 1, 2014, will result in the devaluation of the dollar (even further) and the loss of the Dollar as the world's Reserve Currency.

Who know? It's scary speculation: the bill taxes overseas accounts and requires other countries to disclose accounts overseas held by American nationals.

Long before that becomes an issue we'll have become an urban warfare society, where even one of your coins will be a detriment.
