  • Plumbing parts?

I want to clean the pipes in our house. Can't get the clean-out plugs out.
One is brass, the other is plastic.
Probably have to cut them out, but I want to find replacements first.
3" plug is to big, 2" is to small, can't seem to find 2 1/2".
    The plug mesures 2 3/4".
It's an old house, cast iron pipes, so it could be an obsolete size.
Any idea where I might find the plugs???
Any suggestions on how I might get the plugs out????

What places have you visited so far to look for the parts?

Went to all the box stores.
Ace, True Value, HD, City Mill, Lowes.
Probably have to go to a plumbing shop.
      Any suggestions????

this warehouse setting is where they sell plumbing parts...not the one on kokea and king st...that's their ritzy showroom (which I see on yelp gets negative comments)...

the plumbing location is different...helpful staff...

there is also another plumbing parts store that I've bought materials from just makai (on the same block as the Puuhale McDonalds)..

Typically those cast iron drain fittings need to be broken off as they are now obsolete for most applications. In our corrosive environment they will be nearly impossible to remove and replace as originally intended. You will need to replace with a nohub type rubber union type fitting. You will insert an abs or pvc fitting. With a rubber nohub or fernco type connector. There is a special tool for breaking cast iron pipe in a clean uniform way. Its called a chain breaker. You can google these terms to get a better idea. Usually a professional is needed to do this properly. I question why you need to just clean out your pipes. Do you have a clog or slow drain? The rooter people will know how to deal with those caps and they can use a camera to see if you have a more serious problem. Good luck

            Thanks for the suggestions.
If I can get a replacement plug, I'd rather go that way.

I have been thinking for some time as to how to answer great question.

Every city has a huge underground plumbing system.

When the Plumbing sails the leaks start .
