Quick question, does amazon charge sales tax in Hawaii?
My experience is that Amazon does not add on any additional tax computations for orders that originate in Hawaii.
Now run along and play, but don’t get into trouble.
Not yet, judging from my two most recent orders.
For physical books, DVDs, electronics purchases, I've never been charged sales tax. But for ebook purchases, I have. I would say a little more than half of my ebook purchases have had sales tax; a little less than half have not. I have no idea why some ebook purchases are taxed and some not. Or why ebook downloads are taxed, but physical books are not.
Great! I can save some money making amazon purchases!
I know shipping will take a little bit longer but if I'm not in any rush, it's perfect!![]()
take the free shipping...you would not believe how quick it comes...(i have ordered several items over the years with this option), and it'll come in less than 7 days...sometimes as fast as 5 days from when ordered...even if they state the long wait...don't believe it!
I have read that Amazon plans to make shipping still faster by establishing local warehouses in various cities (though I don't know about Honolulu specifically). Once they do that, they will have a local retail presence, and will have to start charging sales tax.
