I always use the wave to prep veggies that I don't want as done as whatever I'm cooking on the stove before I include them, like onions which can get all burnt since I tend to like my fried foods well cooked. Onions and zuchinni with butter/herbs are great waved, and zapping potatoes so they're tender makes frying them up easier. Eggs in many forms do well too.
