Default The Tuatara,a creature with three eyes

This amazing critter has an extra eye on its forehead during the juvenile
phase that gradually recedes upon maturation.

It is conjectured that the extra eye allows better defense against attack

    from birds.

Keith Richards would have a few comments there.

Even humans (homo sapiens sapiens) have a 'third eye' but we are blinded by age as we mature.

Some of us have kept that third eye, to one degree or another, battling against society and technology. It's not easy, but it can be done. Meditation, and connecting with your subconscious is the first step.

(Come on, what did you think meditation was all about?)

Oh Chu. If only you could have seen what I've seen, with your eyes.

They would need special designer eyeglasses.

    Great points ,
Birds maintain a thin spot in their skulls that permits entry of light to their pineal glands.

In humans the baby retains a thin spot in the skull that gradually fills in with bone.
    The Fontanelle
This area also allows light to access the gland and modulate the photo-periods best suited to that region of the planet.

Our third eye , is as you say , Kao , still there, but in some cases it must
be rooted, like a humble cell phone.

This area represents a calculated risk, bit evidently the risks were worth the rewards.

    Adding a wee bit here,
The Pineal gland is about the size of a grain of rice.

Unlike most of the brain , the Pineal gland is not behind the blood/brain barrier.
