I saw the movie The Princess Bride at the Ward Theater Wednesday night (5/14/14) during their monthly Hana Hou showings.
While I have seen this movie many times on cable (and I suspect that I might have it in my DVD collection) I have for one or reason or another missed this movie when it played at the theater.
Kind of a charming movie, what made it work is the grandfather reading the book to the grandson, with some breaks in between. I really don't know if some of the satire parts of the movie (like don't get involved in a land war in Asia) was in the actual novel or was it from the grandfather adding some spice to the narration.
Also liked the scene with Miracle Max.
