The Board of water supply is in the process of starting the dismantling of the "Stairway to Heaven."

This is a travesty. This is a national treasure.

Let's find a way to preserve this treasure!

That ship has sailed, it was fun while it lasted, except for those who live in the immediate area... It was available for a very small % of the population who could handle it and wanted to while vista options are still available, like the venerable Pali lookout, without the danger issues, litigious, and waste of resources concerns. Let it go, and leave it as a memorial to HT's own, The Fritz.

It has to be safety over bidness.

"HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The city is looking for an organization that would provide managed, fee-based access to Haiku Stairs." "Fee-based access to Haiku Stairs is not surprising.

They just need to tear it down already.
There is no way to make it safe.
If they are going to turn it into a money making activity, how are they going to make it ADA compliant?????
If they charge a fee, and don't have a way to accommodate someone with a handicap, it's that discrimination????

Also need to take down the Koko head tram tracks.
Almost every week choppers have to save some unprepared tourist.
Park has to close. School kid's can't go outside until it's over.
I'm just wondering when the next chopper will go down.
Talked to a tourist who went up there.
Said it's unsafe, smells like an outhouse, and rubbish all around.
                      But the view was nice.

I'm getting dizzy just picturing a trampoline on top of the Haiku Stairs.

Step by step. How far down can a Slinky go down the stairs?
