  • Feeding Feral Cats - Help Wanted

I have been feeding a small sub-colony of feral cats out at Heeia Kea Park on Kam Highway in Kaneohe for several years.

My health has deteriorated to a point where I cannot continue, and I am looking for someone to take over my position.

The sub-colony consists of about 10-12 cats, some quite friendly (former pets dropped off by scum), while the main colony, maintained by others, has about 100 cats.

It's a small job; I go through a bag of Alley Cat every 2 days and supply water. I have been feeding at dusk, so the chickens don't eat the food (they go to roost), and I live about 4 miles away.

If anyone is interested in helping these animals live, you can email me at spirit@hawaii.rr.com
