I saw the future of American politics after seeing Bobby J. speech at the Republican Convention. What happened?

I certainly do hope this is not really the future of American politics. I keep seeing the results of state-by-state surveys which try to estimate how the states' quality of life differs. Where do the most people still smoke? Where are people least happy? Least educated? Lowest paid? And so on. Louisiana is always near the bottom in the quality of people's lives. Bobby Jindal bragged that he of all the Republican contenders really did cut taxes. I believe him. So do we want all the states to be miserable places like Louisiana under Jindal's guidance?

the only message now from the GOP is BE VERY AFRAID!, UNTIL WE GET ELECTED AND THEN SHUT UP BECAUSE WE DON'T GIVE A RIP ABOUT YOU.

definitely a few grades up tonite on the substance levels, Trump and Rubio held ground, Cruz, Christie, and Kasich came off well enuf with Cruz the nite's winner, while Christie failed the fact checks.

Cruz: Why is everybody always picking on me?
                  he's done

                  Rand Paul:
                  reanimated

                  Chris Christie:
                  won’t answer a question

                  Marco Rubio:
needed to be great, looked good, but kinda grating

                  Jeb!:
                  unleashed, nobody noticed

I think we can also say g'bye to Carson, Fiorrina, Kasich, Huckabee, the rest

tomorrow's debate see's Carley getting the boot with a few other heads ready to roll and the spectacle of a Trump vs Ailes showdown w Megan Kelly awaiting as moderator, this guy is set to cut and run
Jeb! embarrassingly has his mother jumping into the purse fight with serious experience and lifting his spirits of not his dismal 2% ranking amongst losers
then there's Christie, Cruz, and Rubio ready to slug it out in desperate defense
if Kasich is still in who would know or care, wet cardboard doesn't sell
what a year this will be!

egg meet face, not sure how the Megyn thing happened, but...

whata wild nite that was, a pretty great debate
Trump managed to survive himself, and Rubio, to win the nite by default
the guy displayed his blatant vacuity every time he opened his carny yap
Rubio collapsed under the weight of his own inexperience and pecking party
Christie charged ahead but can he flip a very anti Christie base?
the rest had mixed results and are vp anxious

Carson, Fiorrina, Paul, and Huckabee, have tossed it in, w Jeb! and Kasich getting a big bounce post NH as Trump is the new teflon Don

last weeks brawl continued out into the street w just about everybody taking a giving shots, Trump and ! went at it again w ! taking the brunt as usual, but Trump is losing steam even as he's stoking the boiler, creepy Cruz is now branded a liar, Rubio may not recover from Christie, and Kasich is the odd man out, the only one even half way credible

I wouldn't put it so grimly, but yeah with Paul withdrawing, John Kasich is the only candidate remaining in the GOP race that I would vote for. His positions on marijuana and abortion do leave something to be desired, but other than that, he has been one of the more responsible, pragmatic Republicans throughout his career. He has stood firm on the issues when it mattered, and also reached across the aisle when a bill was important enough to have bipartisan support. More than anything else, he’s an independent. Someone who actually THINKS about the pros and cons of how issues affect the American people, rather than which base he is pandering to or which horse to trade. The rest of these wingnuts are way out there. I don’t even think Trump is a Republican. He’s just an opportunist.

We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans.

I don't like him, he's got a nasty anti lib disposition, heard him on npr and he got snarky over nothing
but god, was it awesome or what watching the other asshats yelling at each other for being liars and other bad bad man things? how could anybody vote for them? and I'll say til I'm wrong that Trump will not hang around for the semi long haul, I think he just wants to thump these cons, and boy has he!
