Fixing frozen pizza (microwave+toaster oven)
I often fix a small 9.2oz Digiorno frozen pizza, traditional crust. I never look at package directions -- no fun that way. I've experimented:
- Preheat the toaster oven to bake at 450deg.
- Take pizza out of package and wrapping.
- Dip bottom of pizza in water and sprinkle a little water on top.
- Set microwave to low power (2 out of 10). Add red pepper flakes to top.
- Heat pizza in microwave for 30 seconds. Crust should wind up cool and pliable.
- Set timer on toaster oven to 16 minutes and cook pizza on bare rack.
- A few minutes before the 16 minutes are up, scatter some shredded mozzarella on top of the pizza.
- Thump the crust to get a hollow sound to test doneness.
