  • Coconut Island schooner

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but there is no "History" thread.
Maybe thee should be a "history" or "rear Window" thread about hawaii of the past.
    Anyway................
I think it was back in the 70's or 80's.
There was a schooner in the dock on Coconut island.
I remember seeing it on excursions there.
We were not allowed to board it.
At one point, it was turned into a small night club.
Never got a chance to go, but some who did, said it was small, hot, and expensive, but fun.
It was during that time it burned down.
I got to go back on the island a few months later, and saw burnt schooner.
Next time I was back, a few year later, it was gone.
When I tell friends about it, no one remembers anything about it.
I've searched the web, and can't find anything about it.
    Any ideas????

I think I found some information
I think the schooner was the Seth Parker.
        It was a four mast.
Christian Holmes, heir to the Fleischmann yeast fortune.
He brought it to the island sometime in the 1930's.
It was no longer seaworthy, so he had it permanently docked, where he turned it into a bad and movie theater.
It was used in the movie "Wake of the Red Witch", starring John Wayne.
That's all I've found so far.

Still can't find anything about it burning down.
I'm sure there are pictures of it.
I remember seeing them in the paper.

                I saw that site. Thanks.
I wish I had taken some pictures of it before and after it burned.
