Was anyone at Chinatown last night? They banged those drums for most of the night, and we had to patrol on the outskirts of Chinatown just to get away from that (FYI, I volunteered for the HPD Police Explorers).

Luckily, nothing happened while I was there (I was there from 5pm to about 9pm) and the people there was just crazy with the fire crackers and pop pops amoungst other things.
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

        Re: Kung Hee Fat Choy!

There's celebrations all over all week, this week and next. I was stuck in traffic in Chinatown on Saturday, as they'd closed down a few streets for one such party. The only one I know about in advance is Friday's, though, as it involves some businesses I work with.

We hope to go this evening. Today is very sunny so I hope the Gods bless us
all with good weather, good health (most important) and much happiness. We
will do all the traditional "things" sweep out the "old" and put up new red paper
with good luck sayings. And hopefully we'll see a Lion dance and give the lion
li-see so he'll bring us good luck.
