Re: What's playing on your iTunes & iPod?

Ok...per iTunes, here are my Top 25:

Feel Like Makin' Love 4:51 Bobby Lyle
    Fallin' 3:30 Alicia Keys
Feel Like Makin' Love 2:53 Roberta Flack
    Carmel 5:39 Joe Sample Collection
    Jokers Wild 4:44 Paul Hardcastle
Livin' In The Shadows 5:04 Paul Hardcastle
Bennie and the Jets 5:23 Elton John
    Bird Island 4:28 Paul Hardcastle
    Songbird 4:44 Kenny G
Feel Like Makin' Love 4:23 George Benson
Look To The Future 5:22 Paul Hardcastle
Peace On Earth 5:38 Paul Hardcastle
Rock Wit You 5:36 Alicia Keys
The Secret Garden 6:24 Brian Culbertson
Star Of The Story 5:25 Paul Hardcastle
    Warm Glow 3:52 Paul Hardcastle
    Take Five 5:25 Dave Brubeck
In the Middle of the Night 5:46 Dave Grusin
Hippies On A Corner 5:57 Joe Sample
Somehow Our Love Survives (With Al Jarreau) 4:35 Joe Sample Spellbound
You Are The One 4:51 Paul Hardcastle
Love Never Fails 5:35 Charnett Moffett
Leading Me Back To You 5:08 Joe Sample
Rainbow Seeker 5:25 Joe Sample Collection
Honolulu City Lights 3:29 The Brothers Cazimero

I have iTunes set to shuffle so the Top 25 show me some interesting patterns that, basically, are out of my control in shuffle mode! I don't download complete CDs...only the songs I like. So...it appears that...
I love jazz (not a surprise!)
I love the song "Feel Like Making Love" (again, not a surprise as I have 19 versions of it! My favorite version isn't on the list above.)
I love Paul Hardcastle (while that's not a surprise, I notice I tend to download more of his tunes than any other artist. I hadn't kept track of that. Joe Sample runs a close 2nd.)
I'm surprised that more Hawaii artists aren't on my list. They're in the iTunes library. So...whatevers!

I'm really into the unsigned talent I find on sites like Soundclick and GarageBand . It's nice to hear stuff not heard on my radio. The best part is that most of the MP3 downloads are free

It's been a while since I logged into my garageband account. I don't remember seeing a link for free downloading of their music. I know they have streaming there.

I just joined that Last.FM site a few days ago. OK, their chart URL works for posting here .

My most recent tracks should show above.
Do they have a setting for fixing the date/time stamp? I seem to be hours away from Hawaii Standard Time.
        I'm still here. Are you?

Being a relative newbie on Last FM, I do notice that tracks played don't hang around on my Last FM homepage or the feeds I put on my website and the one listed a few messages back in this topic. They do change and seemingly at different rates depending on what module you choose to display. I notice Ryan's list posted here has the same music and artists listed as it was yesterday. Mine changed several times today.

It was good to know that the songs run on my iPod photo also get included with the count after I did an iPod/iTunes update today.

I see you have a lot of songs listed on your main page charts below the most recently played list.

And just for the record I'll list the last 30 most recently played songs today the good old fashioned manual way:

            Don't Wait - Dashboard Confessional
Steady, As She Goes - The Raconteurs
Painted By Numbers - The Sounds
Not Tonight - The New Cars
Last Man Standing - Bon Jovi
Harlem Shuffle - The Rolling Stones
Stealing My Heart - The Rolling Stones
She's So Cold - The Rolling Stones

              FWIW...

Right now, I'm listening to Return of The Tres by Delinquent Habits, it sounds really cool, even though I have no idea what they are singing about .

Actually right now, I have 342 songs in my Ipod, & sorry to say that I am just way tooo lazy to type them all down here .

              Happy Listening & downloading .

              Aloha.

The easy way to do this is to use one of the services (like Last FM) mentioned in previous posts or to do it manually, follow these steps.

                1. Go to your iTunes recently played list (make sure the option for "last played") is selected.

                2. Copy any amount of songs you wish to post here by selecting the titles on the playlist. Use your computer's COPY command.

                3. If you have a spreadsheet program, paste the songs into the spreadsheet. You will see the song-artist-time-genre and other information listed. Best to have this set up with song and artist as the first 2 columns in iTunes, so that when you paste it into your spreadsheet the song and artist are the first 2 columns.

                4. OK. Now you got the data in your spreadsheet. Next just highlight only those cells that have song and artist info and copy them again.

                5. Open your favorite word processor or text editor and PASTE this newly copied information into that.

                6. Now highlight the space between only ONE of the rows for song and artist... for example...

                Let It Be The Beatles

You would highlight the space between the song title and artist.

                7. COPY this space.

                8. Go to your word processor's FIND AND REPLACE option.

                9. PASTE the space into the FIND box.

                10. In the REPLACE box type in a space and a hyphen.

                11. Select REPLACE ALL. A box may come up and say changes are not undoable. Ignore this and press OK. The computer program will strip out all of the spaces (really tab stops that signified where the columns would end and start in your spreadsheet program). If this goes OK, all of your songs in your word processing or text editing program will look like this.

Let It Be - The Beatles

                12. Lastly copy the new list with the hyphens between name and artist and paste it into the window here at HawaiiThreads.

No manual typing required. The steps may be a bit long but not very hard to do and once you get the hang of it, this should come as second nature.

                Hope to see more lists.

Damn, you folks got great taste in music !!! Awesome lists...lots of McCartney and other great classic rock !

I got Sirius Satellite Radio in December and I've been basically glued to the Howard Stern Channels and Little Steven's Underground Garage.

Sirius is so great...like 50 music channels...NO commercials, plus comedy, talk, news, sports, and of course Howard Stern for $13 a month. The best $13 I spend every month for sure.

From my Last.fm chart tracker, recent top tracks compilation as played on my iTunes and iPod:

While the new iLike service is getting lots of raves, are people here still using Last.fm? I think they are still a good service, and works with older Mac OSX's.

My i-pod has about 90 songs on it or something like that, from all different styles of music. I love listening to anything. Some of the stuff I have on it ranges from Iz and Keali'i Reichel to Evanescence to the Dixie Chicks to Na Leo to Celine Dion... and I'll be adding more songs to it later.

Playing on my iTunes right now is "The Night They Drove Ol' Dixie Down" by Joan Baez; previous to that "Colour My World" by Chicago from my "Best of 1971" playlist.
