Yes, take care of yourself Madazza! Our Christmas dinner plans went awry when one of our friends who invited us over came down with the same thing you have.

We scrambled and will make a simple meal for two of ham, potato croquettes, pineapple & mango compote and a green salad.

Christmas Eve we have an odd tradition (comes from my grandmother) of going to the movies. This year it will be either Harry Potter or Chronicles of Narnia. That means gorging on popcorn and jujubes.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukkah to all!

today: continue making various foods, including cookies, "pretzels", and other "traditional foods".

tomorrow: prepare the house for the lunch, including clearing the car port, setting up the bbq and other places to cook food, and finish/start cooking foods which will last for a couple of days.
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

MadAzza, I hope you feel better soon, such an awful time to be sick.

I'm sick as well with a very bad sinus infection this whole last week. I very much don't want to cook tonight. Pizza it is! I will actually bake cookies, an apple crisp dessert and put on coffee for the inlaws. Can't "totally" flake out tonight with the cooking/baking though I would very much like to. I'd go to sleep for the night already if I could, my head hurts so badly. Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a nice night anyway.

Tomorrow? No clue, the husband works until 7 pm BUT the kids are probably going to visit gma (his mom). We'll have to discuss tomorrow's dinner plans tonight.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.

My grandparents told us yesterday that they're planning something for tonight (the last minute announcement was no surprise, though). So we're (+aunts and uncles) all just gonna bring something their house to eat. I think we're bringing noodles, not sure what kind yet. They did all the cooking for Thanksgiving so now it's our turn.

                      Re: Christmas Eve/Day Dining Plans

We had tortellini, salad, garlic bread for dinner, tiramisu for dessert, and quite a few chips, dips, cookies, clementines, and other snacks for starters. oh, and bailey's and coffee.

Today we are having dinner with friends at the Tulalip Casino and after we eat, we'll adjourn to the gaming tables to start throwing our money away. Shouldn't take too long.

We went to Musashi at the Hyatt in Waikiki last night. Our first time there. Interesting place.

Tonight's menu is, indeed, cornish game hens, with home-made stuffing and asparagus. Man, this house smells delicious!

Hope everyone is having a most wonderful Christmas.

the Eve™ is the big get-together. The Day™ is the spent at home, whacking on leftovers and playing with the pressies.

                                Re: Christmas Eve/Day Dining Plans

I made crabcakes and REAL eggnog from scratch for Christmas Eve. For lunch I had a Cuban sandwich and we went out for Chinese food last night. I ate Peking duck, which was absolutely onolicious. Tonight I'll probably make red cooked pork and use the leftovers to make chow fun.
