I was just cooking in da kitchen today and suddenly da words to one song we used to sing as keeds wen pop into my mind from out of da blue. Got me to thinking, I wonder what ones errybody else wen grow up wit?

Heah mines one:

Coconut Willie, lives in a tree,
Plenny pupule, is easy to see

Now Willie learned to shake his ‘ōpū

My wife says it's from Jack DeMello. Must be a Wahiawa thing. It was a record with stories of the adventures of Coconut Willie and between the stories the jingle was played.

She remembers the cover album depicting Willie sleeping under the coconut tree by the sea shore and his coconut hat was covering his face (you never saw his face).

So there you go...Coconut Willie
