And this begs the question as to why they have the ability to transform from a robot to another form like a car, or a plane, or a boombox or a gun? And why only one alternate form as opposed to having multiple forms? This is something that I wished the movie would have addressed.

Seeing and critiquing movies is part of my job description. Generally, that's not a chore! I see almost everything. Sometimes that works against you -- the specialness of being in a theatre isn't as exciting.

I don't mind dumb movies (obviously, since I LMAO during "Blades of Glory."). I mind it when the movie makers assume the audiences are dumb.

I'm a big admirer of action movies, and there aren't that many directors who handle them well, and Michael Bay does have a good rhythm. Even the jokes in the movie were edited as if they had rimshots.

It was everything else that was dumb. My teenage daughter, who's an incredible film buff, called it "tedious." She was really looking forward to it and was disappointed.

But if you really wanna see it, see it in Dole #8, the digital-projection venue.

          Uh, too much logic.

Also, I wish Galactus in FF4-2 had been more like Megalon or MegRyan or whoever the chief bad robot was.

I wonder how it will look on an iPhone?

My girlfriend whom is a huge Transformers buff said they did a great job in brining Transformers to life. Aside from some minor technical issues she took
issue with, she was really happy.

Even though I never really was into the Transformers stuff when I was younger, the movie blew me away.

I remember the cartoon series having Triple Changers so maybe that's gonna be in a sequel?

Buzz, I think you're taking movies a bit too seriously. I agree that they are the premiere storytelling vehicle of today, but I don't think we should expect any more from them than any other storytelling vehicle.

There was a lot of trashy theater in Ancient Greece and Rome, plenty of pandering literature in the Middle Ages, and, of course, porn has been around for as long as art has. Empty storytelling is as much a part of storytelling as epics are, and filmmaking is no different. Why would you expect it to be?

Besides, if Transformers is going to be remembered in history for anything, it'll probably be for the ultimate anthropomorphizing of the machines and technologies that have become so much a part of our lives today. That a car could be not just a guardian, but a close friend, captures a certain slice of the modern zeitgeist quite appropriately, I think.

...or maybe now I'm taking it too seriously?

It's also obvious that many fans of the film were fans of the toys ... talk about childhood projection!

I'd rather relive the hanabuttah days than face the possible man-diaper future.

And that also applies to Star Wars (Original Original Trilogy) fans.
