Went for a great hike with my friend Tom out to Kaena Point!
It was a beautiful day for sure. Plenty people along the whole Waianae coast.
Memorial day weekend and all. Saw a young bird and heard more in the thickets.
There was also a Monk Seal resting right near the point.

Observed Memorial Day by visiting a couple of memorial parks, one to place flowers on a relative's grave, the other for picture shooting at Punchbowl. This is my favorite of the day - a color photo of the Stars and Stripes blowing in the afternoon breeze.

This shot was taken with my Minolta X700 35mm SLR camera. The lens used was a Tokina 35-105mm zoom for Minolta MD mount. Film was Fujicolor 200 ISO. Processed at Walgreens, burned to CD there. Imported to iPhoto for Mac OSX for minor touch-up.

Yes. Seems odd to me since no photos are allowed in the Academy of Arts or Contemporary Museum galleries, but photos are allowed at Bishop Museum everywhere except the Picture Gallery. So go for it!

This is how far I've gotten...
Sanded, stained, all crossbeams and deck cut out.
Still need to assemble, sail/rigging, deckhouse, etc.
