Tell me about it. I was looking for a doctor in East Hawaii for over three years when finally I gave in and asked one of my co-workers who lived in Hilo all his life (same age as me) if his doctor would take me in. He asked, and his doctor said yes. So this doctor is one of Hilo's best and it takes a patient referral to get in it seems. After establishing myself with this doctor, I was able to get my elderly parents to see him as well. Now both of my parents are getting the kind of health care they needed. It's tough for the Big Island's elderly to get proper health care.

My classmate was one of two ophthalmologists in Hilo. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago and that left half the patients, including my sister and mother, scrambling.

I know a number of people who routinely fly to Oahu for medical care, especially for specialties like cardiology. One retiree is contemplating a move to Honolulu as a part-time resident.

Fortunately for me Dr. John Corboy is a friend of mine and my dad knew his dad.

I doubt there's ever been a point in the history of polling where the "yes" vote would be higher on this question. Just a matter of degree, yeah?

                      Re: CNN polls

According to one news program I saw this morning, HRC has already "donated" $11M of her own money to her campaign to keep it going. My simplistic mind sees that as an inability to raise the needed funds to continue which equates to lack of enough voter support to stay in the race.

Hmmm...I wonder if this poll and it's discussion will be moved to the 2008 Presidential election thread?

Barely 4 hours after post #24, and the numbers now are:
Is it time for Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the race to be the Democractic party's presidential nominee?

                        Yes... 66%... 134,439

                        No... 34%... 68,146

                        Total Votes: 202,585
Almost double the number of votes, with almost no change in the percentages. That seems to be the norm for the CNN polls; over the years, the very early percentages maintain about the same while votes increase to over 300,000.
