Much of what he said can also be applied at a personal level. For me it's "get off your ass and do something!"
Quite inspiring.
Another thing: If his sense of cultural diversity can help reduce how much some other cultures and countries hate us, then that will reduce the threat of terrorism. You don't have to defend yourself as much when others are less inclined to kill you.
Rather than hire 150,000 people to inspect shoes at the airport, deal with the root cause of worldwide hatred.
He (by words and actions to date) emphasizes that government will not solve our problems, but we need to do so by our own deeds. Government should serve in the capacity to assist us in the accomplishment of our goals, but "we the people" have to do the work.
Now, let's see if he can follow through (as my sig line "suggests.")
The day after the celebration:
From parents
"You graduate, now get one job."
"You get one A, you still not pau study hard."
After Wedding
"Put the seat down!"
"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy."
And further :
"To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

Yeah. Hamas knew that. That's why they built schools and housings for Muslims where they can gain acceptance and respect. They're both builders of Muslim faith and destroyers of infidels'.
Then again, Al Qaeda is losing ground and getting desperate because Obama is gaining support from the Arab community.
