  • Quantum of Solace

Albert and I saw Quantum of Solace at the Ward Theater today.

Before I talk about this movie I need to say a few things. First off I must say that I am not a hard core James Bond fan, but I am not total clueless about the series of movies but I haven't seem them all.

Secondly my main movation in particating in the Big Picture sub-forum is just chronicling my experiences in watching whatever movies I am seeing. I am not a movie reviewer, sure I might write that I enjoyed or didn't enjoy a movie but it's only my opinion.

If you feel you the need to comment about the second point please use this thread to do so and just use this thread to discuss Quantum of Solace.

I have to say if you haven't seen Casino Royale before, you should see it before seeing this movie. If the last time you saw Casino Royale was in the theaters back in 2006 then you might want to consider reviewing it first (assuming it's out on video) before attending this movie. I gotta say that the chase scenes in this movie had a lot of variety, there was a car chase, a foot chase, a boat chase and a plane chase. Not much on fancy gadets other than the hand held camera phone with secure access to some kind of signal processing and tracking center. And it seems the MI6 headquarters had all of the fancy stuff.

The film is quite hard to follow, both in plotting and editing. Craig is great though, and the "Bond Girls" are lovely.

If you saw Casino Royale the plot wasn't hard to follow.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie. It seemed the producers have turned Bond into a more Jason Bourne like character. Thus making him more human, less invincible like the previous Bonds.

I see Daniel Craiq as more cast as a KGB agent rival to James Bond.

i enjoyed casino royale much more but this one was a pretty good sequel. i very much like the fact that the flicks rely less on technology and focus more on character.

for those who have seen this flick, i personally wish bond had done x, y, and z to the last character to the edge of death but that's just me....
