During the 1980s I took a course called The Silva Method that was taught locally by retired UH professor, Dr. Bob Stone. It was life altering for me. And I mean that in a good way! Bob (may he rest in peace) was a magnificent facilitator.

A few years later I took a graduate course that focused on the power of the mind and taught by then Silva trainer, Burt Goldman. During that course I was asked to do 3 things that intimidated the h3!! outta me...bend a spoon, psychically read another attendee and recite *backwards* a very lengthy list of words after being taught how to "easily" memorize them forward! Even forward wasn't easy! And, I had to do all of these in front of the entire, large, class! I did not volunteer to do any of 'em! I did not want to be on that hot seat. But...I was. And, I did 'em all! It blew me away! The man I "read" got very misty eyed and told the class that the things I told him were not known by anyone else. That kinda freaked me out. I've not taken another advanced seminar since then!
