  • "Dallas" on TNT

While watching Rizzoli & Isles tonight there was a promo for Dallas, which continues the late 1970's series with the sons of J.R. and Bobby Ewing driving the drama.

Series start on June 13, 2012 on TNT. No idea what time of day it airs.

There is oil under the Southfork ranch, some parties want it, other parties want to honor Miss Ellie's wishes that there will be no drilling for oil on Southfork property.

And there are other parties that just want to screw the Ewing family, doesn't matter if its J.R. Ewing or Bobby Ewing or their kids, as long as their last name is Ewing there are targets.

The northern area of Texas is a distinct region.
Fort Worth is a few clicks west of Dallas.

The place was bad for presidents.

No, Bobby is married to a woman named Annie. So far only Bobby, Sue Ellen and J.R. are the ones from the old series who regular make appearances on the show, but there are others who make an appearance in an episode. Lucy and Ray showed up in the first episode.

Dallas was yet another of the many reasons representing the sucky '80s.
Who shot JR? More like, why weren't they all shot in the first episode? Now THAT'S entertainment!

They are only tv characters. But, it's kind of a letdown to know that a tv series couple will get divorce in the future. It's similiar to when the Spock character from Star Trek died in a movie.

Victoria Principal left DALLAS a couple of years before the original series ended - don't remember the plot circumstances.

The new series promises some summer fun - ten episodes ordered, a record TNT audience for the premiere, so maybe it gets life beyond summer?
