We've have been visiting Hawaii for 3-4 weeks almost every year since 1991, when we went to the Big Island to see the eclipse.
We love to visit (you'll never guess) the Napili beach area on Maui, although I do have relatives that live on the big Island near Pahoa that we like to visit, too.
My passion is snorkeling with the sea turtles, creative cooking with fresh local ingredients and bike riding. I recently (last few years) discovered the road N of Kapalua is a great dawn bike ride.
Now that retirement is within reach, we hope to spend 3-6 months a year there. We live in the Pacific NW and our poor old bodies seem to have a harder time with the Winter damp these days. But we are really city people and enjoy the benefits of cosmopolitan living, as well.
