And now that OC16 has revamped their site and got their web stream working, if you miss the live stream you can catch it the next Wednesday and various times through that week.
From friend Lynn P ---
Here's the Pakele Live! schedule for Oct/early Nov. - all are confirmed, but stuff happens, so sometimes things change at the last minute! (6-8 pm, HST)
Oct. 9 - Del Beazley (with Dwight Kanae, Kimo Bell, Bryan Tolentino, and Willy Aki).
Oct. 16 - Vaihi
Oct. 23 - Mel Amina & 3 Scoops of Aloha
Oct. 30 - Natalie Ai Kamauu - this is a NOT TO BE MISSED show!
It's a 3 hour combo CD release/birthday party, and Nat will have a bunch of guests - folks who've helped her out with her new release: Maunalua, KUmZ, Aaron Sala, her dad (Howard Ai), and there will be hula (her mom, of course, and probably her kids and others). Her hubby EO and brother Chad are her band, so a big night for `ohana, a zillion friends will be there, and who knows who else might show up!
Nov. 6 - Ka Hula O Ululani (from Japan) and PALI (I think PALI is also playing for the halau in the first hour...)
Nov. 13 - KAPALA
Nov. 20 - MIGHT be Daniel Ho (don't know if we have final confirmation yet)
News on the Pakele Live! with Tony Solis tv show: You can still watch live online whenever OC16 is airing the show, and they're planning to increase the number of times it airs each week to approx. 9 (so it'll be easier for you to watch it, no matter what part of the world you live in!), and they may add it to the "OC16 on demand" channel. The new show for the week starts every Weds. night at 7 pm HST. It's only a half hour, but still fun.
Tonight's show is Jon Yamasato, David Kamakahi, and Darin Leong, from their Aug. 28 appearance.
Check the OC16 listings on their website for the other days/times. The schedule for the next few days is Weds at 7 pm, Thurs at 1 am and noon, Sat at 6:30 pm, and Sun at 12:30 am and 3:30 pm (all HST)
David performing without his Dad?! How'd that happen? Are you sure?
He's been performing without his father many times in recent years, as well as with many other artists. Dennis has scaled back his performances in 2008, while he recovers from his unexpected diabetes.
