it seems my 3 month rate went from $45+ to $53 for daily delivery in Palolo. Anybody else have a rate increase? If it weren't for my wife doing the crossword, I'd dump it and spend 10 minutes reading it online instead of 15 waiting to read actual news, not just copy-and-paste news services

They also jacked up ad rates.

Since becoming Hawaii’s only daily statewide newspaper, the Honolulu Star Advertiser has raised advertising rates 762 percent for weekday classified ads and 1,373 percent for Sunday classifieds, according to documents posted on a state website.

Folks, we're a one newspaper monopoly town. This kind of price increase just pounds another nail into dead tree media's coffin.

I've stopped buying the paper months, years ago. Online is where it's at.
