Re: Newscasters from long ago
Oh my God, I just read the part about her son being 21. Has it been that long already? I remember seeing him in the newsroom when he was just a boy. Wow, that must have been about 10 years ago now. Geez, now that I think about it Bill Brennan's son must be a teenager too ...
Sorry, just thinking about all the newsroom kids and how big they must be now. Might not be too long before some of them decide to follow in their parents footsteps. Gettin old here ...

Another newsroom kid I haven't seen in a few years is Barbara Wallace's daughter. Whatta cutie! She must be a teen by now.

Re: Newscasters from long ago
On a serious note talked with Larry Zerkel's widow today and there will be a memorial service for Larry this coming Sunday (9/14) at Noon at Kualoa Beach Park. Casual attire and this will be a celebration of his life.
Friends and colleagues of Larry are welcome to attend.

Re: Newscasters from long ago
Marty Chase (KHVH sports anchor, late 1960's)
Gary Bentley (KHVH)
Doug Carlson (KGMB reporter and "Crossfire Host" 1974-1976). Of course Doug later went on to be the HECO spokesperson and when Hurricane Iwa hit, it was Doug on all of the tv stations explaining why the power was out for so long on Oahu when the majority of the damage ocurred on another island. Mayor Anderson decried basicially we will not again have a widespread power outage in which we lose all communications with our local tv and radio stations so the people can be informed as to what has happened.
Hmm, did history not repeat itself during the earthquake 2 years ago?
