One more thing. When will us non-cable non-satellite OTA antenna TV viewers are going to watch CBS again?

    I'm waiting...

Erika's column this morning (link above) also talks about "expatriate" Hawaii TV folks in mainland markets.

From what I've heard the loss of those two staffers at KGMB is a big one. Archer has been good for the news operation - his spouse likewise on the promotion side.

Being from the other side, it was nice bumping into Chris and his wife.

From what I understand he is a very good boss.

His wife always had a smile.

There was a story on Hawaii Public Radio a couple of weeks ago that included an interview with Mike Rosenberg of KITV (point person for digital conversion in Hawaii) that seemed to be saying it ain't gonna happen. What you (don't) see is what you get. At least that's the way I understood it . . .

                  Hey Kimo,

My ears must have been ringing...I just logged on to see what was being discussed and came upon your very recent post.
What I hope I said during that interview was that KITV's digital reception is what it is and we have no plans for adding translators to fill in any areas without reception.
I'm not sure if KGMB/KFVE plan on doing anything to prop up the KGMB signal which was affected by their switch with KFVE, not the digital transition.

                  Aloha,
                  Mike

In that case, I have a message for Fink:

I don't want KFVE. Put KGMB back on OTA Channel 9.

Finally. Did they make such an announcement on the other channels (Raycom owns the other two)?

Personally, I'd rather have MyNetworkTV/KFVE on 13.2 rather than 9.1. But I guess you really cannot fight the Fink Factor.

Hey Random, There was no announcement about 13.2, that I heard of, I just thought I would do a rescan, And It was there. Yea I agree it should be on 9.1, but hey they are run by the "Finkster" Hey, how is your KAII/KHON 7.1 on Molokai?

7.1 and 7.2 signals are coming in clear. Unless there's rain.

                              Why?

The reason I asked, was because I get a lot "random" signal dropouts on 7.1 & 7.2. It does not matter if it is rain or shine. I know they have the lowest transmitter power. I have experimented with signal amps and that seems to solve the problem. I can't figure out why the FCC limits them to 3.9kw while others have way more power.
