Getting Through Honolulu Airport Customs

Aloha again

I am travelling from Australia to Hawaii and just wondering if anyone know what am I allowed to bring into the country in terms of food and drink?
Do you have limitations on anything? Like ,can I bring only 1 bottle of wine or 2-3? (in Australia we have heavy restrictions)
Same with chocolate-one box or 2-3?

Also-on arrival to Honolulu-duty free shop-what sort of local/unique food/wine etc. would you advise to buy?

You can bring most anything except Illegal stuffs.

Such as endangered species products and plants such as turtle, alligator, etc.

I called and spoke with Inspector Ancheta of US Customs.
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/c...ts/hi/3205.xml

You are allowed to bring 1 litter of alcohol. Taxes might be 21cents about two boxes. Exemptions up to $100.00
The trade agreement between Australia an US is good so even if you declare they probably let it go through.

Australian wines are fantastic! Fortunately, many of them are now available in the U.S. - so you might be able to find some of your favorites when you get to Hawai`i, Kleo, and you can turn people on to something they can get again after you have been and gone.

Yes, Australian wines and to a lesser extent beers are readily available here. You might want to bring some Bundaberg rum or other spirits as I've never seen them here. It'll rut your guts though so I only drink it for special occasions (Australia Day or ANZAC Day) to remind me of my years Down Under!
