      =====================
      sorry
      I bought an up/down converter from Wal-Mart. It can go from our 110 up to your 220. But it did not come with the odd shape australian socket adapter.

        Any electronics store - try Radio Shack @ Ala Moana - I know, I said I never go there... I do go there to EAT and DRINK (just not to shop) and I know they have a Radio Shack.

            I got mine at walmart, but there are gobs of them at the nearby ABC stores, which are located on every corner.

                I have found adapters in Australia-however I am a little confused because there are two different types-with 2 metal bars stiking out and with three metal bars...which one do I buy?

                  Unless you are staying in an old building in Hawaii, go with the 3 prong unit. Anyway this link from Wikipedia kind of summaries all of the AC power plug around the world.

                    Thanks Helen!

                    One more question-if I buy 2 prong unit-will I be able to use it where 3 prong unit is required? Another words-does this third thing really make a difference?

                      It will fit. Even though electrical outlets here are of the 3 prong type, some stuff have 3 prong power cords and other stuff 2 prong power cords.
