Alternative transportation question

I will be staying in Kailua for the first time this trip-On the off chance that I may not want to drive into Waikiki- Based on personal expierence- Bus from there to Waikiki? Doable? Does it run reliably/regularly? About how late do they run?

How expensive would a cab be round trip?

The web site for TheBus is: http://www.thebus.org. I guess you will need to check out route 57 which services Kailua.

This links to a PDF of the route map while this is a PDF of the route schedule. The last time I used route 57 was in the summer of 2003.

Thanks, but I have already checked the schedule online-just wanted personal feedback on whether it was worth it or not. And info on the cab option...
