  • GOP debates 2011/12

Without big splash hopefuls like Sarah Palin or Rick Perry onboard, the Romney headed motley crew fielded for last nite's first GOP debate was merely an exercise in trying not to implode during their introductory hour. Ron Paul again came close to doing just that by virtually eliminating his already strained credibility when asked if Obama had done a single thing positive for the nation's economy with a self-deflating "no, I can't...". Too bad the other's weren't given the same question, maybe they could have been more truthful and less rediculous, otherwise they simply attacked Obama and some of each other, without offering much positives of their own. Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum were quasi surprises to the field, and until a bigger dog than Mitt get's into the fray they'll struggle to put forth anything nearing a challenge to anyone but themselves.

They took Twitter questions. Anthony Weiner missed an opportunity there.

At the debate, Ron Paul was asked if he could think of anything good Obama has done during his term. He said he "couldn't think of a thing." Uhhhhhh, bin Laden? Ron Paul is a jerk and deserves no respect, even more so than Viner and his lot. The Teapublicans are one sorry lot.

GOP debate? What "debate," pray tell, was going in New Hampshire? There was no exchange of ideas on how to create jobs and revitalize the economy. All I heard was choruses of Obama-bashing from all the participants. And for some variety, a bit of Muslim bashing thrown in.

More like a GOP debacle, if you ask me.
