Something Matapule doesn't realize is that women were being abused and killed by men long before guns came along. Mass murders were also common; killers used rocks, swords and fire before guns came along.

Guns aren't the problem, people are the problem. Ban guns and killers will find another way. Actually, ban guns, control guns, and the criminals will still have guns, but the victims will not.

California Tightens Restrictions On Handguns. The land of fruits, nuts, flakes and one matapule takes another small step toward complete gun control. Of course the terrorist organizatin NRA opposed closing this loophole in existing gun laws. For all you gun nuts out there........ drip, drip, drip......... one small drip of change at a time!

California Tightens Restrictions On Handguns. The land of fruits, nuts, flakes and one matapule takes another small step toward complete gun control. "One of the bloodiest months in recent history continues in one of the US cities with the strictest gun control laws.
According to an NBC report,

Violence continued to strike the Chicago area this weekend with at least 18 people shot in a little more than 12 hours overnight, bringing the number of people shot since Friday to 40.

Four people, including an 11-year-old girl at a sleepover with friends, have been killed, police said.
Over 80 people were shot during the 4th of July weekend in Chicago.
It’s currently not possible to legally purchase a gun from a dealer in the city of Chicago. The city council just recently passed a measure to allow gun shops to operate in the city, but the requirements are so strict that it is unlikely anyone will try to open a shop there.
Until just recently, the city had its own gun registry and before that even had an outright ban on handgun ownership.
The city has had virtually every gun control law that the anti-gun crowd wants in place at some point over the last few years. However, the city remains one of the worst in the country for criminal activity committed with firearms.
The July weekends aren’t the first violent weekend Chicago has had this year it’s happened several times before.
We should also point out that if a 40+ were shot in one city, during a single weekend, by a spree killer with a semi-auto rifle, it would make national news on a daily basis for weeks and weeks. While this violent weekend in Chicago does seem to be getting some national media attention, it will likely be a passing headline over the next 24 hours, if most news sources choose to cover it at all.
Just another example of gun control advocates choosing to ignore the real causes of violence in this country – gang violence and violence in the illicit drug market, both of which contribute strongly to Chicago’s violence."

A victim of gun violence is NOW in support of gun control. All the gun nuts are in support of unfettered gun ownership until tragedy strikes close to home......then that support waivers. Of course the terrorist organization NRA is opposed to any legislation that would keep guns out of the hands of felons, abusers, and "good guys" with bad intent.

Now the gun nuts will trot out the tired argument that victims of spousal abuse should be required to arm themselves (the gun manufacturers really like this argument) but that argument is moot when the debate is about keeping convicted spousal abusers from obtaining illegal guns in the first place.

The only thing that scares me more than a "bad guy" with a gun is a "good guy" with a gun.

Hmmm, he's asking the State to somehow defend women... by taking away their ability to protect themselves? Sounds like something mata would support. Get out of our lives, please, we'd like to keep living and can do just that WITH the choice to defense as we want. Yep, this woman knew she was in great danger and didn't protect herself beyond a useless restraining order while her nut husband illegally got a gun. Bad choice on her part, and your's mata by wanting her and everyone else to be vulnerable without any recourse, but at least she still had a choice and let's pray that continues for those who are still alive.
