I like that name. One of our executive management staff calls me "Pomeister". Really!
Snort! Somehow I doubt it. No need discount anyway...their prices are pretty good for what you get. Try the salad bar.

A long standing "mom & pop" still around is the HYGIENIC STORE in Kahalu'u on the windward side of Oahu.

Basically a "7-11" type of store with everything from groceries to band aids.

They were infamous in the 70's & 80's not so much for the store, but the banyan tree next to it that was a "store" in itself for Pakalolo dealers & consumers. Everyone who grew up on that side knew about it.. including the police. Eventually it cleaned up and now is just famous for being what it is... the Hygienic store.

I went to Aiea HS from 1973-1977 and Edwina Siu was the teacher there. Her daughter Ann Mary went to school with my sister at St. Elizabeth. My father grad with Edwina Siu's husband Stanley from St. Louis 54'. My friend Greg Kanae was with the Swinging Singers in 1975. I was looking in the Swinging Singers website and noticed Myra Okamura who I didn't know until recently is a nurse of my doctor at Straub and Benjamin Pascua who was in my English class in high school.

Blaine, are you the Fergabomb? LOL....nah just kidding. I remember you and your family in Waimalu. I used to live Waimalu Up Tract by the Rabanals. You guys used to have awesome Halloween props at your house. I didn't grad with your sister Janel. She's a year younger than me. She's a 78' grad and your brother Garen grad a year before me. You grad with Pablo Rabanal. I read your blog about working at Waimalu Burger Boy. That was years ago. Didn't one of the Grance boys worked there? Didn't you rmom work at Value Drugs Waimalu?

Wasn't Sweet City Disco was in the International Food Court in Pearlridge during the 70s?
