they tried to register 'windows' as a trademark, but the P&T office said

First off, it is a direct copy of the MAC GUI.
        secondly, the term

ok. my point was; pronounce it differently makes it a slightly different woid.

Spell it differently, makes it a completely other word!

Tomatoe tomahtoe just means we have a language that is used from the east coast to the west coast on a biiig continent...

                        and other continents.

And the admin has spoken. OK... we have gone pass 200, perhaps all the stuff about dead spirits, burials, rocket launches to the sun, and whatevers need to end here (since they are off-topic) and re-focus back to WalMart Keeaumoku. I haven't seen the later threads yet, so we'll see.

Maybe we need to put this topic on hiatus until shortly before the store opens, though I suspect there may still be a few things to discuss as more news breaks in regards to the WalMart opening.

Tell us what the rest of the mortals here think.

You couldn't have bought the books at wal-mart on keeaumoku since the store is not open yet.

Call me cold or mean if you like but, when wal-mart on keeaumoku opens you can go down there, you don't have buy anything but you can go for the chicken skin experience since the place used to have or may have bones buried beneath it.

It was either in the Wednesday or Thursday's Star-Bulletin, in the business section. It's not the location on Kaheka Street that Wal-Mart is interested in but rather the entire chain of stores world-wide (which is basically Japan and few places in Hawaii).

Well if that would happen, WalMart would more than likely close down Daiei on Kaheka and move some of its operations (oriental foods, gifts and products) to the new store if they don't have them already. The Daiei property is pretty valuable if someone else wanted to go in there and develop it into something else.

Overall it kind of makes sense if WalMart wants to buy the entire Daiei chain. In Japan Daiei has been losing money big time and even considered or may have already gone to their country's government to ask for a financial bailout.
