I know lots of people who don't surf porn sites that get viruses. Our administrative assistant here at work is an older lady who is afraid of computers and she's gotten a virus on her work PC. I blame the online games that she plays on her downtime.
Youtube is another source for viruses. Instant Messaging is another source for viruses. Email with attachments is another source for viruses.
Viruses can be embedded within Jpeg images, MP3 files, virtually anywhere. The best one is the one that pops up in your system tray telling you your antivirus has found a virus..."Click here to remove" and whamo, you're infected.
Life is what you make of it...so please read the instructions carefully.

It is NOT true that you only get viruses from porn sites. I have had the "fake virus scan" from three different sites (none porn!): while searching for art supplies (it was a link that looked like an online art store), from researching a garden plant (it popped up while I was on a garden website), and one other time that I was surfing the net for online news. Each time I was on a different computer.
The first time I had to install a virus-kill program specific to that virus. It would not allow me to exit out. Luckily, the next two times I simply exited out without problems.
Now run along and play, but don’t get into trouble.
There might be some sites popping up with sex tapes of Carrie Prejean. Those sites are probably going to be infected with viruses. I'm going to wait till they become evaculated and then go on when it's safe.
