FB friends requests

Hi, any FB users know if within the past few days FB has unleased a new way of sending "automatic" friends requests, maybe based upon other people's friends list (ie become a friend of a friend)? I've 4 new requests, two from people I do not even know. Up until now, my requests have been "real".

I dunno, Amati. I've heard from a couple of friends who have had their accounts suspended for a week or so for friending too many people they don't know. When one accepts a friend request now FB asks if you know the person or not. Too many "nots" cause suspensions. My experience with friend requests from people I don't know is they are, in fact, a friend of a friend who has participated in a thread and, for whatever reason, likes my comments. I ignore those requests.

Thanks TutuSue, but I'm thinking it is either a (1) FB setting or automatic FB-generated-action, or (2) some sort of virus or phishing?
