[QUOTE=pzarquon]I'm beginning to think Hawaiian Telcom should start paying Konaguy for tech support services!
I'll second that! Best tech support i've ever had.
Switching from frame relay to ATM next week. Meanwhile, my connection seems back to normal. Still not sure what was "fixed" as no call back on my trouble ticket.

Mahalo for the kind words, just trying to spread some aloha
You should get a more reliable connection over ATM versus
frame. Plus frame is going the way of the dodo bird, so you
were wise to upgrade now.
Edit: No, ATM is not Automated Teller Machine for you folks thinking it is that
Very good to hear Hopefully they'll be able to fix your speed problems.
Well, let's hope. I suppose if they write up a trouble ticket they have to log it, so it has to be cleared at some point, which implies somebody has to actually take some action on it.
I think our friend Konaguy ought to work for HawTel part-time and get paid for all this advice.
I've received no phone call about my trouble ticket yet, but I thought I'd test again:
Seattle server:
dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-07-14 16:06:19 EST:
888 / 367
Your download speed : 888 kbps or 111.1 KB/sec.
That is 32.6% worse than an average user on hawaiiantel.net
Your upload speed : 367 kbps or 45.8 KB/sec.
That is 22.8% worse than an average user on hawaiiantel.net
Well, I finally jumped on the "call Hawaiian Tel" bandwagon just now. Only about a 10 minute wait for me. Nice guy. Said the network probs were supposed to have been resolved about the 8th or 9th.
Went through a full shutdown of system and modem, and bringing up modem before system: still getting 387 up/701 down from farnsworth.uhnet.net. Got a trouble ticket #, so hopefully this squeaky wheel gets some grease too.
I haven't heard anything yet. I didn't actually get a trouble ticket number, either.
There isn't any number to take. Either they already have a database to input the ticket info in, or they're still using the paper tickets that are scattered throught the numerous call centers.
I just hope that the problem doesn't spread to my neck of the woods.
Something happen late last night. My computer froze I shut it down. When it came back on, it had the thingy information to reboot. I did. Now it's faster than ever.

btw: Does anybody get calls from 800 8909074? I get it every so often but nobody answers. Has it something to do with Hawaiian Telecom?
Be AKAMAI ~ KOKUA Hawai`i! Philippians 4:13 --- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
