I'm looking for Windows freeware that will let you generate PDF files by having "PDF" as a printer option. I used to use a PC that had Adobe Acrobat installed, which let me do this, and I'd love to have that same feature without needing to buy a copy of Acrobat. What's the best way to do this?

I've found a couple of pretty good freeware Windows programs for creating and managing PDF files.

Brianca was right, PDFCreator installs itself as a Windows printer driver and works great on most documents. I have had problems getting it to generate PDFs of web pages though -- the formatting is off. But for office documents like Word and Excel, it's a winner.

And I recently found the confusingly-named Gios PDF Splitter and Merger, a small program that (surprise!) splits and merges PDF files. It does require that you have Microsoft .NET 1.1 installed.
