    Re: Splitting Hawaii County

My word for the fringe element is "The Politics of NO".

It's not necessarily just the fringe. There are lot's of folks in Hawaii who practice the "NO" for lot's of different reasons. But taken all together, they collectively contribute to the destruction of this great state.

Aaron, I speak from the heart when I say that our generations (X & Y) will be the cleanup crew in the parade where baby-boomers are the shiny horses.

PS - The most important thing to remember about Hokulia is that entitlements were given, and then taken away. I think we should bulldoze the 150 other subdivisions on Big Island that exist as residential uses on Ag land. Double standards are never fair.

And what a possessive lot they are, too.

Actually I can see from both sides. The fringe element doesn't want Hawaii
to be all paved over, which I don't want either. We need to identify and
protect important agriculture lands, which I believe Hokulia is not a IAL.
Why Ag lands ? as they compormise the bulk of the zoned land in the
state of Hawaii. As for my thoughts on Hokulia, I've written a lot of things
on my blog about this legal travesty here
