  • Legislature & The Dog

Found this item in the Star-Bulletin today. And I'm displeased. Very very displeased:

"Bounty hunter and cable TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman and his wife Beth will be honored today on the floor of the state House of Representatives for their contributions "in helping to keep Hawai'i safe," according to state Rep. Gene Ward, who introduced the honorary resolution on the Chapmans' behalf.
"The event honoring the Chapmans is scheduled for noon at the State Capitol."

Apparently everything in our state is in perfect condition, since our elected representatives have nothing better to do than give awards to reality TV "stars".
    .
    .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I guess we know what his new nickname should be:

      "Ward of the state."

I dunno. Maybe work on legislation that actually benefits the people of the state?
Nah. That wouldn't be apropos, now would it?

My point is Republicans are kinda ineffective in Hawaii's Legislature. But then again, maybe a Dog Distraction is just what Clayton Hee needs in his Glenn Kim reduction sauce.

I know I should perform my civic duties better, but I just don't follow local politics. Is Hee a powerful senator? Is Hanabusa? Are they effective? Are they respected? Feared? Ethical?

They do seem to get on the evening news whenever I am around to watch it.

If I were to say "feared," would I have to answer any of the other questions?

who fears them? Do they earn the fear because they are so smart, or are they that mean?
