Re: What's for Breakfast - Chapter 1
On weekends, I've gotten into the habit of making home-made 'Egg McMuffins.' Toasted English muffins from Costco, scrambled egg, and bacon.
A geeky kitchen show on PBS called "America's Test Kitchen" featured a tip to buy cut bacon in bulk, roll each piece individually, and freeze them. It seemed like a hassle, but it's turned out to be a flash of genius. Now I don't feel like I have to "use up" a standard package of bacon before it goes bad, or thaw a whole package even when I just want a couple of strips. I just go to the freezer, snap off a couple of bacon rolls, thaw 'em in the micro, and fry 'em up.
Man. Now I feel like having bacon for dessert.
