It took awhile, but I guess this turned out to be the correct call after all...

Eastside Grill has been closed for a long time - like last year?

Shows how often I get over to that area!

Found out it closed November 2008, the same year it was voted one of the Top 3 sports bars in the Bulletin.

Those two 7-11s were in close proximity. But with all the one way street streets in that area, both locations were attracting motorists coming from different directions. The Kinau St. store was catching a lot of drivers making a right turn from Beretania before going onto the nearby H-1 onramp. Too bad it closed. Now those same Beretania St. drivers have to make a detour to Young St. if they want to get to the King/Piikoi 7-11. Not very convenient. But maybe even 7-11 has to trim down its operations in order to cope with this economy.

Our next show is the Food & New Products show October 16, 17 & 18, 2009. If you want to be added to our mailing list, e-mail us chiliinhawaii@gmail.com

Genki Sushi on Kapahulu is open, I guess the night I went by it was closed for some reason.
