Today was our traditional Sunday morning breakfast.
Fried (or scrambled) egg with tomatillo salsa and cilantro
Bacon
(All of the above wrapped in a fresh tortilla)
Homemade refried beans with cheese and grated onion on top
Fried potatoes with grilled onions on top
And to top it off, matapule's secret Bloody Maria cocktail made with Clamato and Baja lime juice.
We diet for the rest of the week.

Smoked salmon on toasted whole grain bread with sweet butter. Café au lait. Orange juice.
Oh WoW! That sounds sooooooooooooooo good! I had the usual oatmeal
tsp. of cinnamon with a dab of lehua honey and 8 oz. of orange juice.
I am now on the coffee portion. Eventually I'll eat 2 bananas. Yours
sounds way better!

Lucky for me that it's almost Christmas and smoked salmon is on sale. I bought a dozen packages and stuck them into the freezer.
Here's a nice way to use it..
Thinly slice leeks lengthwise into shreds and fry them in butter til limp, put aside. Scramble eggs in the pan used for the leeks. Make a nest with the warm leeks and top with the scrambled eggs, then top with smoked salmon. Serve as breakfast in bed with coffee and toast or croissants. Partner optional.
Save any old bread and dry it out, then layer it in a baking dish with cinnamon sugar, melted butter, dried fruit or jam or sliced fresh fruit, making the top layer just the bread and butter. Make at least two or three layers, then pour egg and milk mix over the top...one egg for each cup of milk....it will drink up lots of this, and as it gets absorbed, add more....a lot more, while you let it sit for an hour or two or even for a day in the fridge. Don't be afraid to keep topping up the milk and egg mix to just below the rim.
Sprinkle one last time with cinnamon sugar and bake at about 350 until it's puffy and golden brown. Eat hot of cold with custard sauce or jam or plain.
(this can also be made non-sweet with ham or bacon and cheese)
Warm rice pudding from the Christmas gift crockpot.
A cup of rice, six of milk, less than one of sugar, and a walnut of butter. Cook on low til it's done...mine took about four hours. Add a handful of raisins and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar along with a splash of vanilla about halfway throiugh. We ate it with raspberry jam on top.
One chicken/apple/gouda sausage enveloped by Hawaiian style cornbread and topped with a bit of agave nectar. It's also delicious with lemon curd. Don't know what to name this recipe but it's my new, favorite breakfast! And, no, it's not a corndog!

That sounds delicious! I switched from the usual and had a little vanilla yogurt with blueberries and banana with Bear Naked granola (the more whole grain of their 2 varieties.) Now i"m onto a jumbo mug of coffee thinking about going to the pool but it's pouring.....well you get wet anyway! I just don't like the water splashing into my eyes while I swim.

That sounds pretty good. Any ideas what else you could do with it?

So, what's it called? And will you have it again?

Cool. How about calling it... you know... a corndog?
And, no, it's not a corndog!
My bad.
And my breakfast was a spinach & mushroom omelet with hash browns, a large glass of milk, and some coffee, at IHOP in Windward Mall. (I had to run some errands right near there. I was surprised at the small crowds in the mall.)
