Yes, unless you were hanai'd. Then you're haole even without the one drop, unless you want to get into an all-haole school.

                Nope...

Ritz and (now) sembei may look like 'crackers' but they got mo'flava.

Shouldn't take a haole, though that's what I am, to know stories of "good" Haoles of HI. I know a haole guy who gave a van to a needy family. I know another who buys lunches for others. Then there's the rogue groups trying to help prostitutes and drug users downtown and in Waikiki. There's lots of haole police officers doing great jobs and the list could go on and on. No names on purpose because they do it to help out not for recognition. From the olden days, Charles Reed Bishop who married Princess Bernice Pauahi did alot towards the education of all Hawai'i's children. He also built the Bishop Museum for education and conservation. Let's hear of more positive stories folks, their out there. Aloha
Life is either an adventure... or you're not doing it right!!!

One of my friends played the guitar at a cousin's house when the DJ failed to show. He just got to the front and played his loudest for the family. He even helps around the house with the cooking and other things; all while in a wheelchair.
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

Hey, I know what! Why don't we start a thread about "good Negroes of Hawaii" or "good Jews of Hawaii" or "good Koreans of Hawaii" or "good descendants of the indigenous peoples of Inner Mongolia in Hawaii" or "good Hawaiians in Hawaii" or "good God haven't we advanced beyond this in Hawaii??"

                        nah.
                        too easy.
                        too non politically correct.
                        too intelligent.
                        too ironical
                        too much whoosh quotient.

I keep wanting to add to this thread, but the only truism that comes to mind is:

                            Haoles are people too.

Lurkah, you can be honorary haole anytime you like, in my book! (Though you mighty cool as is; no need for you to be haole.)
