Re: Got tree?
well, of course, that was not the point. It's not xmas every day.
I believe it is time to rethink the implications of this spurious, apocryphal holiday which has by our modern time come to be celebrated in many different ways with no thought of its original intent.
We have those that use christmas to celebrate things... the aquisition of material objects. they pray for posessions...
"Hope ya get whatcha want. Shop till ya drop. Hope ya got what ya wanted. Hope santa gave ya everything on yer list..."
We have the celebrity worship, those that deify the personage, in a goofy, adolescent manner;
"Jesus is the reason for the season"
(Gimme a break; It is clever to these people because it rhymes?! )
and we have those that know of the pagan origins of Christ mass and of course, those that celebrate only the orthodox contemporary "exoteric" christian aspects of it.
and almost all see their way as the only way just as many think their religion to be the only true path to their concept of god or the gods.
but hey; viva la difference.
just remember, as the great bard sez:
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
