    I could care less.

Just stop to think about that one. If you could care less, then it means that your level of interest still has room to decrease, and that you are not yet totally bored by the topic after all.

What you mean is I couldn't care less.

This one has entered common usage out of simple linguistic laziness.

"You know what I mean". It's not the phrase itself but rather how many times it get's used when someone is talking to you over a period of 10 or more minutes.

"What happens in ____ stays in _____" Makes you sound like a smarmy little bastard is what it does. And it's so overused.

Also, "He popped the question." I just think that's the dumbest saying ever. Just say he asked you to marry him. Or he proposed.

And, of course...LOL. Do you really? Do you really LOL?

    Good thread, by the way!

"so and so ROCKS"... or even worse ".... RAWKS"..

    I hate that.

    "You know the drill"

I don't know why that annoys me.

    Annoying phrases

Here's an article on recent annoying phrases and buzzwords -

I cannot stand the phrase "it is what it is". That phrase to me is a sly way of saying "I'm too lazy to do anything about it, screw it.", instead of taking action.

What sayings annoy the heck out of you?
