For the first time in years I've been able to keep my door and windows open on New Years Eve .... there is just no smoke buildup tonight, even though people are popping off fireworks.

Yeah for the recent rains and breezes tonight.

Hard to believe there haven't been any posts here in almost 3 months!
Anyway, the best part of today is that I just saw a mother and baby whale a couple of hundred yards offshore. HOORAY! The ocean is flat as a pancake today, so they were easy to spot.
Also, the kolea must be getting ready to leave soon for their migration back to Alaska, since they're starting to get their "tuxedo" coloring now.

The best part of today is that the taxes are finished. Thank God.

There has been a wayward whale roaming San Diego Bay the past few days. Crowds have gathered along the bay to watch. Once a friend & I were on a fishing pier in the bay when a whale surfaced about 100 ft. out, I yelled, "Look! A whale!" and of course it vanished without so much as a ripple. The fishermen stared at me like I was kook city. Oh well. They say in the past, before civilization took over the bay, the whales were so thick you could walk from back to back over them. Poetic overstatement to be sure.

And a few years ago a seal came out of Mission Bay, walked (?) up the street, and up a flight of stairs to somebody's 2nd story apartment. The story made CNN.

I'm so happy to hear it Pesh! I really do hope the bad times are behind you with that.

It's scary out there right now. Here in Cali is definitely no exception. I know of so many, too many being layed off. The state get no kala, they were holding our returns until just this last week. Now they say they're sending em out, we'll see.
