  • After-Effects of June Jones Leaving

Bo Levi Mitchell, the QB of one of the top 5 high school teams as rated by Rivals.com has decided to look at SMU after giving the verbal commitment to UH. Kinda sad, as I'm pretty sure UH will have to settle for guys who weren't their first choice, as I'm sure more than one other recruit probably will follow JJ to SMU.

Re: After-Effects of June Jones Leaving

If Jones stayed. I think the program would be completely different, and this past year would look weak in comparison. An entire recruiting class was lost with Jones leaving. These players would reach their prime in 2+ years. The success would lead to even better players. Soon, everyone top HS kid would add Hawaii to the list. Now, Hawaii's past success don't count because the coach left. It's hard to convice some HS kid to come here compare to just a few months ago. We all know what.

I think we should give some credit to the players of the Timmy Chang era. Their success, is what lead to the recruiting class we see that reached the Sugar Bowl.

Now, if a kid want to play "Hawaii style" of football, he needs to go to SMU.
