If Favre and the Detroit Lions have colluded to give/accept insider tip-offs, then they both need to be dealt with severely. This is potentially as bad as Pete Rose's situation for baseball.

Re: Farve commit's NFL treason?
Just some things that make me don't care about it:
-the source was Faux Sports
-it would have not been against NFL rules; coaches share film anyway
-Lions need more than cheating to win
-can't compare it to Rose's situation--Rose's betting on games in which he managed/played IS against MLB rules

To compare it to gambling/fixing games is ludicrous and totally lacks perspective. The only consequence I see coming from this is Favre's reputation with Packer Backers. He'll always be a hero in Green Bay. But as a result of this story (helping a divisional rival), he may drop a couple of notches below the sainthood level of Vince Lombardi and Bart Starr. This post may contain an opinion that may conflict with your opinion. Oakland only won that game in OT, with a record breaking field goal of 57 yards - that they had to try because they couldn't get a first down. Farve did not have his a** handed to him! Oakland finally had a good break - and a great kicker.
and, no - I'm not a fan of either team."Democracy is the only system that persists in asking the powers that be whether they are the powers that ought to be."
